This selection, also known as "The Hymn for Christmas", is an English Christmas carol, written by Edward Caswall and first published in 1858. Dan Forrest's arrangement needs no introduction to our choir, as we have sung it on many occasions. Its grandiose treatment of the text embodies the spirit of Christmas and is a powerful way to finish our concert-proper.
