Donate to The Brockville Community Choir
The Brockville Community Choir provides high-quality public performances of choral music in the Leeds and Grenville area. Its semi-annual full-length concerts feature professional soloists and instrumentalists. The Choir also showcases local singers and musicians. The Choir brings choral music to retirement homes and schools and collaborates with other community musical groups to enrich the cultural life of the area. The Choir fosters the musical development of young singers through free student choir membership and support of the Brockville Music Festival.
Members of the Choir range in age from students to seniors and represent different work, life and musical experiences. Under the expert leadership of Artistic Director Madelyn Mensen, members develop proper vocal production techniques and grow in their capacity to learn and present a varied repertoire which includes recognized choral masterpieces, lighter classical compositions, popular songs and works of modern composers. The Choir provides opportunities for members to be inspired through music, to socialize and to connect with the community.
“Music is the social act of communication among people: a gesture of friendship, the strongest there is” Malcom Arnold
