WORKSHOP FAQs
- The workshop is led by Lydia Adams, C. M. – the Conductor and Artistic Director of the Elmer Iseler Singers.
- The workshop is intended to be educational and, equally, a safe place to share the joy of making music together. Your participation in the workshop will benefit from prior experience singing in a SATB choir. Being proficient in sight reading isn’t a requirement, but you should feel comfortable enough with your singing ability that you would be “performance ready” after a 90-minute workshop.
- Copies of the scores will be available at the sign-in for the workshop.
- The workshop is scheduled for 1:00-2:30pm at St. Lawrence Anglican Church, 80 Pine Street, Brockville on April 18, 2026. Please arrive well before the start time to collect your copies of the music for the workshop. Parking is somewhat limited – car pooling is encouraged.
- Pre-registration is required – Deadline for registration: March 25, 2026
- Tickets for the workshop/concert are available from Brockville Community Choir members or online at BrockvilleChoir.ca under the SPECIAL EVENT tab (NOTE: service fees will be applied to tickets purchased online). NO TICKETS AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR OR AFTER THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE. After the deadline tickets are available for the concert only – not the workshop!
- Admission to the workshop includes admission to the Elmer Iseler Singers concert, Songs for Springtime, starting at 4:00pm in the afternoon. Workshop participants are encouraged to attend the concert and join the Elmer Iseler Singers for the last two numbers of Songs for Springtime.
- In keeping with the theme of the concert, workshop participants are asked to dress in “Spring Colours”.
- it is recommended that you eat lunch before the workshop and bring water to drink during the break before the concert. A lunch is being provided for the Elmer Iseler Singers only, as they will arrive by bus from Toronto midday. A light snack will be available for everyone to share at the break.
- For those from out-of-town, the venue is very close to downtown Brockville with shops and restaurants so you can explore Brockville during the break between the workshop and concert.
- Please direct any further questions about the workshop to Membership@BrockvilleChoir.ca
