Brockville Community Choir turns 40 years old in 2026!

The choir’s founding director was the late Howard Alexander.  Subsequent directors have been Michael Capon, Peter Willsher, Jeff Reusing, Heather Eyerly, Dianne Baird, and our present director Madelyn Mensen.

The choir has been SATB throughout its history, and welcomes singers of all ages and experience without auditions, giving everyone an opportunity to try the music for 3 practices before they make a commitment.  We give two major performances per year, in Spring and late Fall. We also have performed for the community as part of other events, and in schools and retirement homes.  Most seasons the repertoire has been classical, with a few exceptions for Broadway and popular music, and Canadian folk music including some with indigenous roots.

Some of our concerts have themes, such as Music for Gratitude and Peace, Harmonies of Hope,  Light within Darkness.  We welcome new choir members, new audience members and sponsors.

A celebratory project for our 40th anniversary will be a workshop (1 pm) with Lydia Adams OC and concert  (4pm) by the Elmer Iseler Singers, entitled Songs for Springtime, to take place on Saturday April 18 afternoon at St. Lawrence Anglican Church in Brockville.  Our next Brockville Community Choir concert, Voices Up!, all Canadian music, will be Sunday May 24, 2026.  See brockvillechoir.ca for further details and tickets information.
